The University of Vermont is proud to host the 28th annual meeting of
the Northeast American Society for Eighteenth-Century Studies (NEASECS),
to be held November 4-6, 2004 at the Sheraton
Burlington Hotel and UVM Conference Center.
As in past NEASECS conferences, there will be a wide range of papers and
panels in all areas of eighteenth-century studies. The theme of this year's
conference, though, will be "Borders and Crossings" -- to be understood not
only in spatial terms (such as Travel Literature), but also with regard to
periods, disciplines, genres, gender identities, and modes of communication.
With Burlington, Vermont being on the border between regions and countries
within our association, we hope that our site and theme will tempt many of
you to make the crossing to this year's conference.
Most of the information you'll need is contained in the links provided.
We are excited about what promises to be a special conference. If you are
already scheduled to give a paper, moderate a panel, or to attend for another
reason, please make use of the conference registration and hotel booking
links that we have provided. If you've not made up your mind about attending,
please take a look at what we will be offering.
Should you have any questions about the conference program, please get
in touch with Dennis Mahoney, the Chair of this year's meeting, by email
at dennis.mahoney@uvm.edu
See you in Burlington!
