Jim runs the web site for the Comprehensive TeX Archive Network. This is much like the more familiar Comprehensive Perl Archive Network. It collects and makes available to people material related to one of the oldest still-active free software projects. It offer about 5G of material, at http://www.ctan.org/.

He'll talk about how the system is run, some issues that arise, and some of the benefits and disadvantages of the free model.

After that there will be an open question and answer session. Anything having to do with Linux, etc., is a welcome topic. Newbie questions are very welcome.
